Spotlight Review On Google Plus by Sy Bounds
A brief History On Blogging From Where I See Things.....

I've been blogging, studying, following and focusing my research, closely studying, experimenting and using  many aspects of google since 1998. That's the year that google's blogger was coined by Evan Williams.
I am an early adopter, signing in as a co-founding student participant attending the legendary Chicago Blogger sessions under the masterful guidance of famed Chicago Blogger, Columbia College Professor Barb Iverson. I recall one of those early learning sessions, I think it was snowing and only Professor Iverson, myself and a young lady named Bleu Cauldwell came to class that evening. So Professor Iverson and me talked with Bleu about a new mini-blog called twitter. Few in Chicago had heard about twitter at the time, except a few other blogging types, early adopters. Iverson always had insights in her classes on new gadgets, but it was Bleu whom was really using twitter at the time. She said that she found it very useful, but I forget exactly what she did with it.

In those days Iverson would conduct these unique classes and they were friendly, open, inviting, intense, fast-paced and most of all they were fun. Iverson loved to talk about many aspects of this emerging phenomenon called blogging. In fact I took a number photos from those early, pioneering, exciting, intense blog learning sessions, which in effect were a direct, precurser to social media as we refer to it today. Those were pioneering blogging training sessions at Columbia in early 2000.

I would attend anything related to blogging during that period. There weren't many places to get this type of training in those days. I was also a founding member of the 1st Chicago Podcasters meetup group, held at The Apple Store on Michigan Avenue. I think that both of these groups were among the first 'real places', in all of Chicagoland where early adopters, like myself could go to learn about blogging in a class like setting. I'm sure there were a few others, but not many places. In retrospect each one of those sessions taught by Professor Iverson were actually history making moments of signifigant consideration. Perhaps I will recall some of the then hot areas of social media that we discussed in some of those sessions. It really is of  much greater importance now, because social networking has emerged as perhaps among the most important movements that the world has ever known. But I will talk more about those early days at another time.

to my neighborhood blogging students on Chicago
Westside. These were pioneering clases, before facebook
came on the scene. Pictured with her is famed hand-signing expert
Pastor Carol Clemons. Were teaching deaf challenged students how\to blog,
I'm not sure if  that has been repeated since we set-up this class. I consider Professor
Iverson one of Chicago's Brilliant Social Networking Pioneers!
I recall it was her and people like Micheal Maranda who were at the forefront of kickstarting
blogging and  the social media / networking movement in Chicago!

I simply wanted to share my experience and exposure in the realm of social media with you before I offer my opinion and review about google's new google+ addition. One ,more thing, though! Among my primary attributes in the world of social media is called...configuration, or helping people to pinpoint their thoughts, dreams, passions, ideas and plans, and then putting them online in multimedia, using blogs, videos, photos, storylines, etc. I help people figure such things out. And then I proceed to put these elements together using social media. And that's where the incredible fun begins. In essense, I really know how to help most people get started in social media, in a really solid kind of style. And then the door opens much wider for those people!

My work and research has especially been focused within googles vast universe of planets. Such as: Google's blogger, google knol, google search, google orkut, google's youtube, google sites, google health, google docs, google's picasa, google labs, google trends, google chrome, google toolbar, google images, google reader, google calender, google groups, google translate and google groups.

I have worked, and applied much thinking and creative energy to each of those google planets and more! And now I will share with you my brief encounter with google + and why I feel that google+ is a game changer. And why if you're trying to put your act together online, that you should sign-up for a gmail, right away. Google+ in Sy Bounds opinion is going to put a great many people on the fast track in social networking circles! As in google+ circles.....

I cannot promise that anyone is going to become wealthy as a result of signing up. What  I can promise those of you whom follow my creative projects online is that I will share (as I have been doing for years) as many creative, innovative, tips, techniques and creative resources as I can those who join Sy's weekly learning circle. And  we've got tips, tips and more tips for you! And to be frank and honest there are many aspects of google's universe that I've explored that most other people haven't a clue about. And that includes many long time expert bloggers. My experience in configuring things google is unique, practical and useful. I can shed unique, new and innovative insights on how to use google that most never realized was possible.
 I can help you!

Google+ will take you where facebook can't. Well worth a peek, a try, an effort!
